Your parents probably haven’t been exposed to the idea of being something other than straight so they might not be very open to it at first. A strategy you could use is asking your parents in an open conversation how they feel about the LGBTQI+ community in general. Some coping mechanisms you could use are listening to music, talking to friends or family or if you don’t have them, just finding overall supportive people to talk to. But you do you and don’t care about what others think Period. Just focus on loving yourself purrrr.
