Sometimes it is best to be honest and let them know that you are not interested. However, we know that sometimes the social context makes it difficult to say no. Having a few pre planned things to say in case you need them can be helpful. Being more prepared for the conversation – either to respond honestly, or with something that can safely get you out of the situation can be helpful. It can also be a good idea to chat to a friend, let them know what is happening. They may have some helpful tips, or may be able to be around when you respond to this person. Remember, you never have to do anything you are uncomfortable with.
